Photography Direction
Photography direction
4 named choices that set mood and shadow the same way across a shoot.
Light is where the mood of a shot lives, so it is a named choice rather than a slider. You pick one of 4 photography directions, from a clean studio cutout to hard, direct editorial flash, and that direction sets light and shadow the same way across the whole shoot.

02 · Direct the shoot
Set the shoot, and read it back.
Every control on the left is a list you pick from. The sheet beside it reads your selection back and names what each setting decides.

Natural E-Commerce
Pick the light first when the channel decides the look, for example a cutout for marketplaces.
Every line on this sheet is a shoot the studio produces, in 30 to 40 seconds.

04 · What changes
What this changes about the picture
Four consequences of the control above, and the limits it does not lift.
Named, not tuned
Each direction is a defined lighting setup with its own shadow behaviour, so results stay comparable from one product to the next.
Channel-ready choices
Studio cutout and clean catalogue suit marketplace and grid requirements; natural e-commerce and flash editorial carry more mood for brand pages and campaigns.
One style, no filters
There are no style presets layered over the image. The light changes; the product is shown as it is.
- You choose from the named directions; there is no free lighting rig with custom light positions.
- Background is a separate choice. A direction does not change what sits behind the model.

Consistency
Change one thing. The rest of the feed holds.
Change the direction and only the light moves. That lets you shoot a listing set and a campaign set of the same piece without rebuilding the composition.

The rest holds
Model
The cast model stays the same person.
Frame
Crop and camera view stay where you set them.
Product
Cut, colour and details are not restyled by the light choice.
07 · Who it's for
The job in front of them
Most people using RAWSHOT are one person inside a brand with a deliverable and a date.
E-commerce manager
Keep every product page in the range under the same light so the grid reads as one collection.
Before new products go live
Brand or campaign lead
Shoot the hero pieces in a stronger direction for campaign use while listings stay clean.

08 · Use cases
When this is the control you need
The situations people arrive with, in the words they use, each answered with the figure that settles it.
A marketplace requires clean product imagery, but the brand site wants warmer images of the same pieces.
Shoot the listing set in studio cutout, then switch to natural e-commerce for the brand site. Model, frame and styling stay as they were.
A new drop mixes pieces shot at different times, and the grid looks inconsistent.
Put every piece under one direction so light and shadow match across the product pages.
A campaign needs more energy than the catalogue images.
Use flash editorial for the campaign selection and keep the catalogue direction for the rest of the range.
09 · Evidence
Numbers you can check.
Every figure here is published in the option set or counted in the gallery. None of it is written into a sentence and left unverifiable.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Which photography direction should I use for marketplace listings?
Studio cutout is built for marketplace listings and product pages that need a clean, even look. Clean catalogue suits a standard e-commerce grid. Check the image requirements of each marketplace, since they differ on background and framing.
Can I change the light without changing the model or the crop?
Yes. The photography direction is its own decision in the composition. When you change it, the model, frame, camera view and styling you set stay in place.
Does RAWSHOT offer style filters or presets?
No. RAWSHOT has one image style, engineered for accuracy, and a small set of named lighting directions. We removed style filters on purpose, because a filter sits between your customer and your product.
Who owns the images I create?
You get full commercial rights to every image, permanently, with no recurring licence fee. Every image carries C2PA content credentials and is labelled as AI-generated, so the origin stays transparent wherever the image is used.
